The quality of TMF cycling pads is driven by continuous research and rigorous testing. Thanks to its Research and Development Center, TMF develops top-performing products, designed to meet the specific needs of each customer. Every pad undergoes a series of tests to evaluate its durability, comfort, breathability and efficiency in performing under real-world conditions.
In this article, we will take a look at some of the tools TMF uses to maintain the high-quality standards of its cycling pads.
3D Infrared Thermo-Camera
The 3D Infrared Thermo-Camera is an advanced device that measures body temperature in the most sensitive areas of the cyclist, such as the prostatic-perineal and ischial regions.
This test allows for the selection of materials capable of maintaining an optimal temperature while cycling, improving thermal comfort and preventing discomfort related to overheating in critical areas.
Thermoregulation is a crucial factor, especially during long-distance rides and in extreme weather conditions.
Hygrometric Moisture Control
Moisture management is crucial for the cyclist’s comfort. The hygrometric humidity control measures:
- The amount of humidity retained by the pad.
- The time required to release it.
This test helps evaluate the performance of materials in managing humidity, keeping the pads drier even during high-intensity cycling.
Saddle Test
The Saddle Test analyzes the pressure exerted while sitting on the saddle, taking into account the riding position. The main positions examined are:
- Racing
- Braking
- Climbing
This test allows TMF to develop pads that provide optimal support in key areas, reducing pressure on the most sensitive zones.
Research and innovation dedicated to the customer
TMF invests in research and development to design cycling-pads that comply with the highest standards of quality and design. Each test carried out by our Research Center is aimed at safeguarding the cyclist’s health, preventing potential discomfort and optimizing the overall road experience.
